Part of the reason for this trip is to raise money for Walk for Life, a brilliant charity that treats children with club feet in Bangladesh and Burma. Kate Lock, David’s sister, is a volunteer administrator for this charity in the UK.
Although there is about the same incidence of club feet in Bangladesh and Burma as in the UK, the effects of leaving this condition untreated are devastating for children in that society. Walk for Life has set up clinics throughout the country to use the simple but highly effect “Ponsetti” method to cure babies born with club feet. This is hugely effective, low tech and low cost medical input that has already made a huge difference to the life chances of thousands of children.
Please be generous. Lots of people have already made donations – for which we are really grateful – but for the trip starting in January 2018 we have set up a dedicated “Justgiving” page. This is accessible by clicking here You can donate by clicking the button and thus make a huge difference to the life chances of affected children.
